Our Links with Russia

As part of our schools commitment to expand international links the History department has set up links with Schools in Russia and in May of this year we were visited by a group of students from The Centre of Education 548 Tsar Itsyno School in Moscow. The Russian students observed lessons in the school before giving a presentation about school life in Russia.

‘Woking’s Winston Churchill School has formed a partnership with The Centre of Education 548 Tsar Itsyno School in Moscow.
The partnership was set up as a result of a visit by Margaret Thompson, head of the history department, who travelled to Moscow in March on a trip sponsored by the British councils to match schools from the two countries. A group of ten students from Winston Churchill has paired up with the Russian students and they are communicating regularly by e-mail.
Next Easter a group of forty pupils will visit Moscow to find out more about life in Russia.
This partnership is part of an ongoing project in the school to expand international links. The school recently raised £6,500 to support a project in Galle in Sri Lanka’
